The Photographers…
Photographers Ross Brownsdon and Travis de Jonk are the creative duo behind the Bad Behaviour Publishing photography studio. The two Melbourne based artists / photographers have been working independently and collaboratively since 2003, creating editorial and fashion editorial images for numerous publications.
The Work…
Their work has featured in publications locally and internationally including Blue Magazine, Outrage Magazine, DNA Magazine, Horizon Barcelona, Exprezso (Amsterdam), MStar, Bnews, MCV, Southern Star and www.samesame.com.au, just to name a few.
They have been the official photographers for events such as Melbourne OutGaymes 2008, Midsumma Festival, Melbourne Queer Film Festival, Rawhide Entertainment and Rogue Dance Parties, Australian Natural Bodybuilding Championships, TV WEEK Logies.
Celebrity portraits for publications and exhibition include Adam Elliot and Judith Lucy to Chi Chi La Rue and Marco Blaze (Titan Media) and Bruno Bond And Steve Cruz (Raging Stallion). More recently they have shot Collin O’Neal (World of Men) and Francois Sagat (Titan Media).
The Exhibitions and Awards…
As well as being selected as one of the top 3 finalists in the Ballarat International Foto Biennale in 2009, these award winning photographers have garnered them the Award for Artistic Excellence from Melbourne Leather Pride. The duo was invited to participate in the infamous Annual Dirty Show for Erotic Art in Detroit, Michigan in 2008 and 2009 Show in Los Angeles.
The duo also took out the major photography category of the ‘Men on Men’ Art Competition, first in 2003, then again in 2007 and 2008.
The SleazeBall Campaign…
Based on the success and notoriety of the Bad Behaviour calendars and their previous work, New Mardi Gras commissioned the photographic duo to bring their ‘Game On’ campaign to life, creating the sizzling images for one of their international, premier events – the 2009 SleazeBall Party.
The finished campaign material received high acclaim and praise as well as an enthusiastic response in ticket sales for the Party. (See Media)
The Bad Behaviour Calendar Series…
The BAD BEHAVIOUR and MISS BEHAVIOUR calendar series is an independently initiated and funded photographic project that has become an international success, selling all over the world and scoring the photographers critical acclaim. Created, photographed, designed, printed and produced entirely in Australia, the first calendar was created in 2007 and quickly gained a reputation for its detail, quality and creativity.
Bad Behaviour Publishing is proud to announce the launch of BAD BEHAVIOUR 2010, the fourth calendar publication in the series.
UPDATE! Bad Behaviour are currently shooting new work for a book to be released in 2011!
